    Booker T. Washington State Park offers a range of indoor and outdoor event spaces suitable for gatherings of all sizes. From assembly halls to lakefront areas and reservable picnic shelters, the park provides practical venue options with convenient access to restrooms, parking, and recreation areas.

      Booker T. Washington Margaret Murray Assembly Hall

      Capacity: 150 guests

      The Margaret Murray Washington Assembly Hall has a kitchen and sleeping quarters to accommodate four cooks. Audio/visual equipment is available.

      Between Memorial Day and Labor Day there is a two-night minimum stay. We are unable to accommodate one-day rentals during this time. The hall may be reserved from November 1 through March 30 for day use only. Weekdays are one-day minimum stay based on availability. Short-term reservations begin on March 1.

      Minimum rental during the summer is two days and one day during winter.

      Rates without A/V: 
      Monday - Thursday rate: $350
      Friday - Sunday rate: $450

      Rates with A/V:
      Monday - Thursday rate: $450
      Friday - Sunday rate: $600

      Booker T. Washington The Point

      The Point is an outdoor venue located near the fishing pier area of Booker T. Washington State Park. This area provides beautiful views overlooks the lake. This venue is available from 7:00 AM to sundown. No electricity provided and restrooms are nearby.

      Booker T. Washington Lakefront Recreation Area

      Average rates: $362

      Surrounded by nature, the Lakefront Recreation area is an outdoor venue located in the center of Booker T. Washington State Park. This venue is available from 7:00 AM to sundown. No electricity provided and restrooms are nearby.

    Pavilions

    Booker T. Washington State Park has three picnic shelters/pavilions that may be reserved for your next event or gathering. The maximum capacity of each shelter is 60 people. The shelters are equipped with picnic tables, a grill and access to restrooms. Depending upon the shelter, access to a playground, an open recreation field, or basketball court.

    Full day shelter reservations may be made online or by calling the park. If you are expecting more than 60 guests, you must contact the park office directly for reservation assistance.

    Picnic shelters or pavilions may be reserved online up to one year in advance with a paid reservation fee. There is a $5 cancellation fee for picnic shelter or pavilion reservations cancelled eight days or more in advance of the reserved date. Reservations cancelled seven days or less in advance of the reserved date forfeit all paid fees.

      Booker T. Washington Shelter 1A

      Average rates: $60
      Capacity: 60 guests

      This pavilion is closest to the lake and contains a covered pit grill with vent and a horseshoe pit directly behind it. Rangers at Booker T. Washington State Park can provide you with the stakes and shoes for the game. This area provides a fun and open atmosphere as well as a beautiful view of Chickamauga Lake.

      Booker T. Washington Shelter 1B

      Average rates: $181
      Capacity: 60 guests

      This pavilion is also known as the concession area, it also has a stove and refrigerator and serving area near by. Just below Pavilion is a full size basketball court with 6 goals.

      Booker T. Washington Shelter 2

      Average rates: $60
      Capacity: 60 guests

      Pavilion #2 is located in Recreation Area #2 at the hilltop overlooking the lake. Trees and vegetation mainly surround it and there are several outdoor tables nearby. There is a playground, restrooms, and open field for games located just across from the pavilion. This area provides guests with a more quiet and relaxing visit at Booker T. Washington State Park, as it is secluded from the main roadways.
