Fishing at Meeman-Shelby Forest
Poplar Tree Lake and Piersol Lake provide good fishing for bass, bluegill and catfish.
Poplar Tree Lake, spanning 100 acres, provides bank and boat fishing for bass, bluegill and catfish. Some outstanding largemouth bass have been taken from the lake. Fish length and creel limits are posted.
Piersol Lake, spanning 32 acres, provides good fishing for bass, bluegill and catfish. Black bass, bluegill and redear sunfish restrictions do not apply on Piersol Lake.
A special lake permit fee is required for fishing and a launch fee is charged for personal jon boats, canoes, and kayaks.

Tennessee Fishing License
All individuals age 13 and older must have a fishing license to fish in Tennessee.
There are a variety of fishing licenses available for residents and non-residents, including a junior license for residents ages 13 - 15.
Licenses are granted by Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and may be obtained in person at sporting goods stores, county clerks, hardware stores and boat docks or online.
