Some Trails Closed

Montgomery Bell State Park

Portions of the Montgomery Bell and Creech Hollow Trails will be closed for visitor safety beginning 3/2/26 due to a timber salvage project as a result of the November storms that brought down thousands of trees. We anticipate reopening the closed portions in May 2026.

      The Lake Acorn Pavilion is an outdoor venue that offers beautiful views of Lake Acorn. It is equipped with restrooms, a fireplace, and electricity.

    Pavilions

    Montgomery Bell State Park has four picnic shelters/pavilions that may be reserved for your next event or gathering. Maximum capacity ranges from 42 to 70 people. The shelters are equipped with picnic tables, a grill, and most have access to restrooms. Depending on the shelter, you will have close proximity to a creek, access to the trails, or a beautiful view of the lake.

    Full-day shelter reservations may be made online or by calling the park.     

    Picnic shelters or pavilions may be reserved online up to one year in advance with a paid reservation fee. There is a $5 cancellation fee for picnic shelter or pavilion reservations canceled eight days or more in advance of the reserved date. Reservations canceled seven days or less in advance of the reserved date forfeit all paid fees.

    Please note, the Park Office Shelter is available for free on a first-come, first-serve basis.

      Montgomery Bell Church Hollow Shelter

      Average rates: $90
      Capacity: 42 guests

      Offering a nice shaded area and access to a nearby trail and creek, this shelter is ideal for picnics and other small gatherings. There are five picnic tables at this shelter and one handicap accessible table. The shelter has two duplex - 20 amp outlets, one large grill, and one small grill. Hand towels and hand soap are not provided in the restrooms.

      Montgomery Bell Park Office Shelter

      Average rates: $90
      Capacity: 70 guests

      Montgomery Bell Park Office Shelter is in a nice shaded area located near hiking trails and a creek. This shelter is ideal for family picnics and other small gatherings. There are six 8-foot picnic tables, including one 8-foot handicap accessible table. A restroom is nearby, but hand towels and hand soap are not provided. There is one large grill, one small grill, a drinking fountain nearby, and a fireplace under the shelter for those cool days and nights. 

       

      Note: Due to freezing temperatures, restrooms are only open from mid-April to October 31. Please call the park office if you reserve this shelter between October 31 and mid-April to check the status of the restrooms.

      Montgomery Bell Golf Course Shelter

      Average rates: $50
      Capacity: 48 guests

      Easily accessible by the main park road (Hotel Avenue) and with a close proximity to the golf course, this shelter is a great location for small gatherings. There are eight 6-foot picnic tables at this shelter including one handicap accessible table. This shelter can accommodate 48 people under the pavilion and 21 outside around the shelter at the concrete tables.

       

      There is one large grill, two small grills, one water faucet 50 feet from the shelter, and there are four trash cans for clean up. This shelter is nicely shaded, has a beautiful view of the golf course, and is a short walk or drive to the clubhouse for restroom use.

      Montgomery Bell Lake Woodhaven Shelter

      Average rates: $90
      Capacity: 48 guests

      This shelter is located in a nice shaded area near a creek and hiking trail, and offers a beautiful view of Lake Woodhaven — ideal for quiet lakeside gatherings. There are seven picnic tables at this shelter, including one handicap accessible table, and three other tables nearby. This site has two duplex - 20 amp outlets, a drinking fountain, one small grill, and one large grill. Restrooms are nearby, but hand towels and hand soap are not provided.

    Montgomery Bell Conference Center

    Weddings

    The Lodge at Montgomery Bell is a natural choice for indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, receptions, and anniversary celebrations.

    With flexible event venues, spacious guest rooms, and on-site catering, you can build an event that’s unique to your needs and wants.

    Group Camp Cabins

    Indoor Venue

    34 rustic cabins with no air conditioning or heating. Outdoor restrooms.  

    Capacity: Up to 120 
    Available: Mid-April to November 1. Nightly minimum applies. 
    Amenities: Electricity and fireplace 
    Rates: Sunday – Thursday $410 per night / Friday – Saturday $468 per night

    Catering

    Our experienced team offers flexible catering options for events of all sizes.

    While our restaurant itself is not available for private events, we offer a range of flexible spaces perfect for your catering needs. Our private dining room, adjacent to the restaurant, boasts stunning lake views and provides an intimate setting for smaller gatherings while our conference rooms can accommodate large events. We can also provide catering to the pavilion at Lake Acorn.  

    Our sales and event coordinator is ready to assist with all aspects of your event planning and is glad to custom-design a menu to best suit your needs.
