    Roan Mountain State Park cabins are located on TN Hwy 143 at the base of the majestic 6,285-foot Roan Mountain, only a 20-minute drive to the iconic views and rhododendron gardens at Carvers Gap.

    Roan Mountain cabins are surrounded by rich hardwood forests and the cool, clear Doe River. Cabin guests can hike along the creeks and ridges, tour the century-old Miller Farmstead, or enjoy cross-country skiing in the winter months. Other activities include biking, fishing, and hiking.  

    Wi-Fi service is available in each of the cabins. Wi-Fi service is also available for cabin guests at the conference center/game room at the park office. All cabins have landline telephones available. There is also a cell phone booster at the park office that Verizon Wireless customers may use to assist with cell service.

      Roan Mountain Standard Cabins 1-20

      1 bedroom 3 beds
      Cabins 1-20 have a front porch with rocking chairs, a full bath with tub/shower, a wood-burning stove, and HVAC. Bedding and towels are provided by the park. Linen exchange is available for a fee of $20, payable upon arrival. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, and basic cooking and eating utensils.       Roan Mountain Standard Cabins 21-30

      2 bedrooms 3 beds
      Cabins 21-30 gave a front porch with rocking chairs, a full bath with tub/shower, a wood-burning stove, and HVAC. Bedding and towels are provided by the park.     Details You Should Know

    • Pet Policy

      There are 10 pet-friendly cabins available. There is a $20/night/pet fee applicable during your stay. Additional charges may apply for any damage that may occur to carpet or furnishings.  

    • Reservation

      Cabins are available by reservation year-round with a two-night minimum (holidays and other special events may require longer minimum stays). Reservations can be made up to a year in advance online.  

      Rates are subject to vary based on date and availability.

    • Group Reservations

      Reservations through the park office can be made up to 2 years in advance for groups with five cabins or more.

    • Peak Time Reservations

      Cabin rentals may be subject to a 3-night minimum during peak times including Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day at park management discretion.  

    • Maximum Consecutive Stays

      Maximum consecutive stays from March 1 through November 30 in any cabin is 14 days. From December 1 to February 29, the maximum consecutive stay is 28 nights. Please contact the park direction for any request to stay beyond these limits.  

    • Wi-Fi

      Wi-Fi service is available in each cabin. There is also a cell phone booster at the park office that Verizon Wireless customers may use to assist with cell service.

    Cabin pathways are not accessible by vehicles. Carts are provided in the cabin parking areas for transporting your luggage, and the longest distance is approximately 200 yards.

    Accessibility

    If you wish to reserve an ADA accessible cabin, please contact us (1-888-867-2757). Please be aware that you must make a specific request for an ADA accessible cabin. There are a limited number, so reservations for ADA accessible cabins should be made as far in advance as possible.

    Firewood Policy 

    Tennessee State Parks asks that ALL campfires be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park, near the campsite. Please refrain from bringing untreated wood into the park.
