Visitor Center Construction
Update 4/3/2026: Construction of the new Visitor Center continues, and the upper parking lot remains closed. During this time, parking is extremely limited, and RV/trailer parking will not be available. Please plan accordingly and park in designated spaces only.

Before You Visit Burgess Falls
Please Note: There is no access to the base of the falls from the park. The base of the falls can be accessed by boat or kayak from the Cane Hollow Recreation Area.
- There is no designated swim area at Burgess Falls.
The park experiences high visitation. Please do not park on roadsides or in non-designated areas. If the parking lot is full, please consider visiting another state park in the area.
Paddling at Burgess Falls
There are no kayak rentals at Burgess Falls State Park.
While paddling is a popular activity at Burgess Falls State Park, there is no access to the base of Burgess Falls from the park property. Make sure to plan ahead for your trip.
Where to Launch
There are no rentals, so bringing your own boat is recommended unless you are on a guided paddle with park staff.
Cane Hollow Recreation Area
Owned by the Corps of Engineers, Cane Hollow Recreation Area is located at the end of Cane Hollow Road and provides access to the water. It is about 10 minutes from the park.
Directions: From the park, turn on Coles Chappel Road, then turn right at Brownton Road, Wildcat Road, and at Cane Hollow Road. The road ends at the boat ramp.
The paddle is a four-mile round trip. Once at the base of Burgess Falls, all rules apply on park property. Alcohol is prohibited.
