    Biking at Middle Fork Bottoms

    The park has a four-mile interconnected paved trail.

    The trail offers visitors opportunities to view some of the incredible wildlife found at the park. All four miles of the trail are currently bicycle and wheelchair-accessible.

    Surface: Paved 

    All bicyclists age 15 years and younger must wear an appropriate helmet.  

    Exploring Middle Fork Bottoms

      Wildlife and Ecosystems

      When exploring Middle Fork Bottoms State Park, you can expect to come across a wide range of wildlife and insects, including:

      • Butterflies and dragonflies
      • Deer
      • Small rodents
      • Aquatic wildlife
      • Great egret
      • Great blue heron
      • Eastern meadowlark
      • Red-winged blackbird

      In addition to wildlife, the flora and fauna of several intersecting ecosystems such as a newly planted cypress grove, bottomland hardwood plots, oak savannah, wetland and warm season prairies, river corridor, wetlands, depressions and lakes.

      Lakes and River Crossings

      The trail system also provides scenic views of several lakes, including:

      • Papershell Lake
      • Bulrush Lake
      • Retriever Lake
      • Cypress Lake
      • Middle Fork Lake

      The trail also crosses over the Middle Fork Forked Deer River, adding another unique feature to the park experience.
