Partial Trail Closure
A portion of the 8-mile Eagle Point Loop Trail remains closed due to storm damage. The portion of the trail that remains closed is the section of trail that connects backcountry campsites 1 and 2. Hikers can currently reach both campsites/shelters from the trailhead. The section of the trail between Shelter 1 and Shelter 2 will be reopened as soon as possible.

Camping at Mousetail Landing
Mousetail Landing State Park is located in West Tennessee along the Tennessee River, about an hour east of Jackson. The park offers a peaceful riverside setting with forested hills, creeks, and easy access to the water. Visitors can enjoy hiking, paddling, fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing throughout the park.
Camping options include a main campground with sites for tents and RVs, some of which offer water and electric hookups, as well as a primitive riverside campground located along Spring Creek.
Mousetail Landing Main Campground
The main park campground has a modern bathhouse, laundromat, and electricity/water hookups to 19 of the 25 campsites. Wifi is available at campsites 1-13. A dump station is also located within this area. Campsites are equipped with picnic tables, grills, fire rings, and lantern holders.
Mousetail Landing Spring Creek
Spring Creek is a 21-site primitive campground on the banks of the Tennessee River. All sites have a fire ring, BBQ grill, picnic tables and lantern holder.
Mousetail Landing Backcountry Shelters
Mousetail Landing has two remote backcountry shelters on the Eagle Point Loop Trail. These shelters have minimal amenities and require a hike-in to the site.
Firewood Policy
Tennessee State Parks asks that ALL campfires be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park, near the campsite. Please refrain from bringing untreated wood into the park.
