    Fishing at Hiwassee Scenic River

It is a regulated river heavily used by rafters and kayakers at high flows but you can also hire a guide to fish from a drift boat.

The Hiwassee River is perfect for the adventure-seeking angler's next fishing trip, with opportunities to wade fish, flyfish, or fish from a drift boat with a local guide.

Anglers have the opportunity to catch Largemouth bass, yellow perch, catfish, Brown trout and Rainbow trout, with trout fishing more prominent in the fall through late spring during the stocking seasons. Please note that a trout stamp is required for trout fishing.

Anglers need to be aware of the flow levels of the river, as wade fishing is only allowed during periods of low flow and is populated with rafters and kayakers during periods of higher flow.
