Reelfoot Lake Camping

  • Camping at Reelfoot Lake

    Reelfoot Lake State Park is located in northwest Tennessee and is centered around a shallow lake known for its fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing. The park’s flooded forest landscape creates a setting unlike any other in the state, with open water, wetlands, and wooded shoreline. 

    Camping options include sites for tents and RVs with electrical and water hookups, as well as primitive camping. Some campsites are located directly along the lakeshore.

    Reelfoot Lake South Campground

    Tent & RV

    The campground is located on Tennessee Highway 21-22, on the south end of Reelfoot Lake. There are paved RV and tent campsites. Sites have 20-, 30-, and 50-amp electrical hookups, as well as water hookups. There are three bathhouses with restrooms. Two bathhouses have hot showers and one has a washer, dryer, and dishwashing area. There is a dump station located at the entrance. 

    Please note: The South Campground is extremely busy during April and May.

    Reelfoot Lake Airpark North Campground

    Tent & RV

    There are 14 RV campsites with gravel pads, 30-amp electrical hookups, and water hookups. There are also 10 primitive tent-only campsites. Each campsite includes a fire ring and water access. A dump station and a bathhouse with hot showers and heat are nearby.

    Rates subject to change. Applicable taxes and fees applied at checkout. A $5 non-refundable reservation fee is required.  

    Details You Should Know

    • Campground Hosts

      Campground Hosts are available at the South Campground.  

    • Check-In / Check-out

      Check-in time is 4:00 pm. Check-out time is 12:00 noon. The Check-in Station is located in the Camp Store.

    • Boating and Paddling

      Boat Launch Ramp area nearby. An Accessible Paddling launch is available at Kirby Pocket. Boats are available for rent from a privately owned facility within 1-5 miles.  

    • Fishing Needs

      Bait is available approximately 2 miles away at privately owned bait shops with fishing supplies. A fish cleaning house, fitted with electricity and water, is available at Kirby Pocket. 

    • Quiet Time

      Quiet hours take place every day from 10:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

    Firewood Policy

    Tennessee State Parks asks that ALL campfires be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park, near the campsite. Please refrain from bringing untreated wood into the park.
