Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park

Due to erosion issues, One Way Road, past the campground at Meeman-Shelby, is closed. Please don't try to access these areas for your safety.

  • Camping at Meeman-Shelby

    Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park is located along the Mississippi River, less than 20 miles north of Memphis, with portions of the park situated atop the Chickasaw Bluffs. The park features a diverse landscape of hardwood forest, wetlands, and lakes, offering opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding, paddling, and wildlife viewing. 

    The campground offers spacious sites for tents and RVs. All sites have water and electric, and some also offer sewer hookups.

    Tent & RV

    The park campground has campsites for RV and tent camping, each equipped with a table, grill, electrical and water hookups. Several campsites also feature sewer hookups, but for sites without the hookup, a dump station is available. Centrally located near the campground, visitors can enjoy a playground with a three-level tower for kids to explore, a community fire pit and pavilion, and multiple bathhouses.

     

    Three primitive group campsites are available at Meeman-Shelby Forest. These sites feature a fire ring and a large, grassy area for tent camping. 

    All rates subject to change. Taxes and fees are added upon reservation.

    Firewood Policy 

    Tennessee State Parks asks that ALL campfires be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park, near the campsite. Please refrain from bringing untreated wood into the park.
