    Swimming at Ocoee River

Visitors are able to enjoy a wonderful day in the water at Ocoee River State Park and the surrounding areas.

Please note that swimming is only permitted on the Upper and Middle Ocoee when the dams are not in active release, and visitors are highly encouraged to use personal flotation devices.

The Lower Ocoee has few to no rapids, allowing for visitors to do a more of a casual float or paddle, so swimming is more highly available.

    • view of lake that has several trees in the water and a mountain covered in trees in the distance

    Parksville Lake

Parksville Lake, also known as Parksville Reservoir or Lake Ocoee, is a popular place to swim. Visitors can access the lake from two beaches: Parksville Beach and Mac Point Beach. Parksville Lake is managed by TVA and the U.S. Forest Service, so please abide by their rules and regulations.
