Trail Closures

Fall Creek Falls State Park

In August 2023, Fall Creek Falls State Park was impacted by a tornado. Please see the updates below regarding the current status of park availability due to past storm damage.

The following areas remain closed:

  • Piney Falls Trail (FCF parking lot to Piney Falls parking lot)
  • Millikan's Overlook Trail (overlook is open, trail is closed)
  • A flowing creek surrounded by some stone and trees in the fall.
  • second story view of pool from a patio with the view of a lake in the background

    Swimming at Fall Creek Falls

Visitors can enjoy multiple areas to swim at Fall Creek Falls. From wading in the George Hole to swimming in one of the pools, beating the heat is easy!

    • Aerial view of a thin bridge next to a waterfall.

The Pool at Taft Village Closure

This is a temporary closure for a much needed renovation to improve the pool’s foundation, liner, lighting and filtration systems. These repairs will help ensure the pool is safe and enjoyable for years to come.

We understand this may be disappointing news, but we want to assure you that there are plenty of ways to make your visit enjoyable and memorable.

    The Lodge Pool

The Lodge at Fall Creek Falls offers a heated outdoor pool open to lodge and cabin guests.

The lodge pool is open daily from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM seasonally.

    • Lakeside poolside terrace with dining area and scenic view.
    • A serene waterfall cascades down layered rocks into a clear pool, framed by autumn trees. A footbridge hangs above, with people enjoying the view.

Wading Areas at Fall Creek Falls

Visitors of all ages look forward to dipping their toes in the natural wading areas at our park. Visitors are welcome to wade in the following locations:

The Nature Center: The Betty Dunn Nature Center is the perfect way to get out of the heat and learn a few things!

The George Hole: Visitors can enjoy swimming and wading in the creek.

The Cascades: Another unique place to wade is at the bottom of Cane Creek Cascades, located behind the Nature Center.
