Starting July 7th, the campground at Standing Stone State Park will undergo renovations. This closure is expected to last until late 2026.

  • Camping at Standing Stone

    Standing Stone State Park is located on the Cumberland Plateau within Standing Stone State Forest, about an hour east of Cookeville. The park offers a forested setting with access to a wide range of outdoor activities, including swimming, hiking, birding, boating, and fishing.
     
    Camping options include a campground with sites for tents and RVs offering water and electric hookups, along with WiFi availability.

    Standing Stone Main Campground

    Tent & RV

    The campground features tent and trailer sites, each equipped with a picnic table, charcoal grill, fire ring, water hookups, and 20-, 30-, and 50-amp electrical connections. The campground has two central bathhouses and a dump station. Wi-Fi is available. The campground and bathhouses are open year-round, providing a convenient base for enjoying the park’s hiking trails, the pool, and outdoor activities.

    Details You Should Know

    • RVs over 30 feet long

       Vehicles over 30 feet in length must enter the park by Highway 52 due to a bridge in the park that will not accommodate vehicles over 30 feet in length.

    • RVs Limit

       RVs are limited to 45 feet.

    • Amenities

       The park has two central bathhouses and a dump station. WiFi is available.

    • Pets

       Dogs, cats, and other pets are  prohibited unless they are on a leash or under physical restrictive control at all times. Pack animals are not allowed in the park.

    • Golden Access Cards

      The park honors Golden Access Cards or passport for disabled and/or senior citizens discount. The campground provides accessibility to persons with disabilities.

    • Travel Advisory

      Vehicles over 30 feet must enter the park by Highway 52 due to a bridge in the park that cannot accommodate vehicles over 30 feet in total length.

    Firewood Policy 

    Tennessee State Parks asks that ALL campfires be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park, near the campsite. Please refrain from bringing untreated wood into the park.

    Accessibility

    If you wish to reserve an ADA accessible campsite, please contact us (1-888-867-2757). Please be aware that you must make a specific request for an ADA accessible campsite. There are a limited number, so reservations for ADA accessible campsites should be made as far in advance as possible.

    Visitor Center Gift Shop

    The Visitor Center Gift Shop is the perfect place to pick up a map, learn about the park, or find a souvenir. You’ll find an assortment of apparel and keepsakes to remember your trip to the park.
